Case Study
Building the story behind VibeCon.
VibeCon, a global vibecoding hackathon, brought together thousands of applicants, hundreds of builders, and two days of nonstop competition. Rather than producing a traditional aftermovie, Emergent partnered with Blockwee to create a three-chapter documentary series that captured the people, pressure, and progression of the hackathon as it unfolded.

Documentary chapters
Documentary productions usually have the advantage of hindsight. This one didn't. Every chapter had to be planned before the first camera rolled. Every interview, judging round, builder conversation, and milestone had to be anticipated so the final series would feel intentional rather than chronological.
The challenge wasn't simply documenting VibeCon. It was building a story while it was still happening.
Chapter 01
The Preparation
The opening chapter introduces the builders arriving at VibeCon, the expectations surrounding the competition, and the people shaping the event before the first lines of code were written.
Chapter 02
Down to 10
As the competition narrowed, the story shifted from participation to pressure. The second chapter follows the finalists, the judging process, and the momentum leading into the final pitches.
Chapter 03
The Finale
The final chapter captures the winning pitches, the announcement of the top three teams, and the conclusion of a competition that began with more than twenty-five thousand applicants.
Beyond the Event
Great event content doesn't end when the venue empties.
The VibeCon series transformed two days of competition into a lasting content IP, one that continues telling the story of the builders, strengthens the identity of the event, and creates an asset Emergent can use long after the hackathon concludes.
